THE CONFIDENCE IN HIS ASSURANCE

There is nothing satisfying as when an assignment has been given to you and the giver of it has a place in it; he approves that which he has committed to you. This assurance comes in when the assignment is executed within the given controls. The aspect of conforming to the standards that haven set up. This means that both input and the output will illustrate the aspect of consistence. The key of all this is anchored on how one is willing to obey; obedience as the Bible says is better than sacrifice.
The Israelites after captivity in Babylon, they are to rebuild the temple of the Lord which they are not proactive to but after the message of Jehovah by Haggai they do. This, I believe, they did following the guidance of the men entitled to spearhead the task. The work they did was put under a scale and the question that followed was: Hag 2:3 ‘Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In comparison with it, is this not in your eyes as nothing? With such a question after much labour you would think what on earth you were to do. However, due to their obedience and response when they were told to consider their ways, God comes out with a statement that must have refreshed each one of them:  Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says the LORD; ‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,’ says the LORD, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ says the LORD of hosts.
Where there is no assurance, there is no peace, confidence, joy, morale, etc. If men can find confidence in fellow men, what about God? The disadvantage of human confidence is that it keeps on fluctuating but that of God is sure, forever. Christ came, died and rose back to life and behold, again He is coming as a judge unlike the first time when He was a Messiah. He is coming for you and I who have entrusted out lives to Him. Where else would we want have full ascertained than in our lives. Paul says in Philippians 1:21 ‘For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Now that’s the confession of a person who has found the place of rest and satisfaction: in CHRIST JESUS. Jesus was not a moral teacher nor a motivational speaker nor a leader but a Saviour, the Messiah. He said that He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through Him. Paul must have had this revelation and experienced it for him to make that confession. Christ assurance says that His word fails not and it never goes void.
The insurance companies cover property and life but where one dies it does not bring it back even though it was insured. But when one gives their life to Christ that means that there is eternal insurance of life. Now there is no confidence that supersedes that of having a relationship with God through the acceptance of Christ Jesus and giving Him our lives. Every other thing has its assurance on short-term basis but the assurance of God is long-term-eternal. It comes in when one has counted every other thing to be of no value with reference to the person of Christ.
